Precision in Motion: The RTC OPT PRO in 4K with Cinematic Precision
3D Production for Romaco Tecpharm
There are projects that arrive with a particular weight to them. This was one of them.
The RTC OPT PRO is Romaco Tecpharm’s flagship tablet coater — a high-performance pharmaceutical film coating system that combines total automation with a process flexibility ranging from 5% to 100% of batch capacity, with no manual mechanical adjustments required. A system with automatic spray arm positioning via sonar, automatic airflow regulation based on product load, an In-Wall design concept, and a completely renewed HMI interface that radically simplifies operation. A serious piece of equipment, built for the most demanding pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Making all of that look the way it deserves on screen was the challenge.
The Process
The starting point was a CAD file provided by the Romaco R&D team. Not a reference image, not catalogue photography — the actual machine geometry, with all its mechanical complexity. From there, the work was to build an ultra-realistic 3D animation that showed the equipment with the precision and visual standard the product demands.
All modelling, lighting, texturing and animation was done in Cinema 4D. For rendering I chose Corona Render — and it was the right decision, even if not the fastest one. In 4K, with the level of detail this project required, render times reached up to five minutes per frame. A number that feels abstract until you multiply it by the 25 frames of every second of footage and the 112 seconds of total running time.
The result is one minute fifty-two seconds of completely clean 3D animation — no real footage, no AI, no shortcuts. Cinema 4D for the animation, Corona Render for rendering, Premiere Pro and After Effects for editing and motion graphics, Photoshop and Illustrator for the graphic elements.
What You Don’t See
This project took longer than expected to reach the world. Changes unrelated to the machine itself delayed the launch several times — and each delay meant keeping the work on hold without changing what had to be done when the moment finally came.
But what doesn’t change in situations like this is why the project matters. The Romaco R&D and production team put everything into the development of the OPT PRO. The hours, the iterations, the technical decisions that make a machine like this what it is. My job was to make all of that effort visible. To make someone who has never set foot in a pharmaceutical plant look at the screen and immediately understand they are looking at something different.
I believe we got there.
